Cierra Bettens is a journalist, researcher and critical media studies scholar based in Montréal, QC.
She hosts the weekly APTN News InFocus podcast, and previously worked as a Winnipeg reporter-correspondent for APTN National News.
As a graduate student in Concordia University’s MA in Media Studies program, her research explores digital sovereignty, journalism and alternative tech futures.
She’s written for the Winnipeg Free Press, Broadview Magazine, The Breach, New Feeling and The Uniter.
Cierra has mixed settler and Red River Métis roots and is a citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation.
